the page his mother is allowing him to use doesn't have i3, only some low end AMD and i5/i7 ivy bridge (for a lot more than he can afford within budget)

I know but it should run Bf3 and skyrim on high so that's all the convincing i need. It's cheap and it works fine.

at a low resolution ..

AFAIK skyrim is highly CPU intensive so good luck with that.

and that processor loving SUCKS
