I have no skill nor talent in coding, nor interest. My father is a programmer, he tried video game programming and hated it. He showed me different engines and it all seemed too confusing for me at the time, and I still think that.
I don't rely on psp, nor his coding. I enjoy the game as I see fit me at the time. I admitted to the fact that psp is no god of coding, and last I checked neither are you or yola, dony. From a friendly perspective, you are both talented individuals that with time, could surpass Diggy, Wentworth, Pitfall, Bushido, you name it. Just not now.
I work with psp because through all the stupidity I manage to find, there are still very intelligent people, very talented builders, and it's all around a fairly easy-to-enjoy environment, and with recent physical alterations im applying to the server it will have even more appeal to it. In fact, that's another reason I like his server so much; people (majority of the time) like the fact that I am there and enjoy my work.
Altogether, Dony, your the only other GOOD city host I'm aware of, and even as a friend, odds are I will not be working with you on the server, namely for several reasons; it's a revival. Anyone who played before, myself included, will get bored faster than before. I respect, but despise yola, and you two can hardly stand each other as is, so I'm avoiding that slippery slope as is possible. Lastly, as an admin; not much I can apply. I could only moderate, which is not something I strongly enjoy. I focus on server improval. I see the bad and try and turn it to good, often with fairly good success. However, if I'm not an admin (which would probably be the case anyways), what is there to do that I can't do on any other server...?
I look forward to your mod Dony, but in the scheme of this all, it won't last very long, and most private city mods are just a rough memory for most. Iban's mod is hated for the corruption and ease of abuse... But it's one of the most well known RPG cores anyone has heard of. How many people, let's say, have diggy's mod, or wrntworth's (I'm not certain that was a private mod actually), or any of the several that Pitfall made.
Psp may not make anything impressive for mod, but the server itself is well established, and it's large, with dedicated admins. Few, select, but dedicated no less.
Dony. For the time that you have known me, when have I not been working. Sitting still. Not eventing, building or planning SOMETHING. Even in my out-of-game life I do a lot of hobby type activities and planning. I enjoy it. It keeps my mind occupied. The problems you and psp have should not affect my desire to improve upon an already well established server... In fact, you have the same problem almost; yola. A key player. He's coding quite a big part(s) for you. But his ethic... And his reliability. I dont mean to insult or throw things around (though yola and I could probably argue about that for the next 20 pages and we would still be no better off)... But he's going to be a daddy soon. If all goes well, in about... What, 5 months now? He won't be online a whole lot, if
EVER. and that time imbetween, he will be very busy I would imagine, even if his significant other has moved in with other family to avoid bullying, he still has much to prepare for.
I had once stated on another thread somewhere- just kidding, found it;
Cities will never be perfect, only less stuffty than the aforementioned stuffty city RPG. Any city RPG server hosted ever has had SOMETHING wrong with it.
I hold this true, and I would bet
1 million dollars that it will hold true for as long as people host city RPGs.
