This would be quite interesting. I always hated the default ramp. I see this as being possible, if not currently possible. I'll try it out.
In .blb coding, the ramp texture is created because the creator specifies a certain poly to be slanted. There was a certain place in the code that you specify the texture that the corresponding side has, ie top has the studs. I'll try replacing that code with the code of both studs and side texture, whichever it is you want.
