Traffic Rant Thread: Careless Drivers & Texting

So, on my way home today, I almost plowed into rear ended someone due to lack of attention on their part. I made a right from a light (green). No one was in front of me, and the next light was about 15 seconds away (it was green). There was a car at the light, but again, it was 15 seconds away. I didn't need to worry about it. 10 seconds later, as I'm going full speed, I realize that the car that was 15 seconds away 10 seconds ago never moved from the light. Turns out she was texting (illegal in my state). So, I stop, but she STILL doesn't move. I tap my horn once, and again, NO response. I tap it again, and she finally gets the hint. I'm pretty sure she wanted to finish her text.

However, that text almost got a full size Jeep into the back of her Neon at 45 MPH. How often does this happen to the other drivers here? Anyone else have any interesting stories?

Happened to me once, but we were already stopped and she just took too loving long to start moving again. I feel like this rant would be more appropriately served if it were aimed at people who are texting while driving, I've been annoyed way more by them than anyone who sits at a green light

Impeding Traffic is illegal for a reason. I thought she was turning.

At first I thought driving in that area was different since it's quite a way from home, but I still don't.
I hope it was, because no one was honking at eachother. All I could think of was "wtf"

Not necessarily. I would just say that I thought they were broken down. But no cop would stop me for that. They would go after the idiots at the light.
