Is windows still running around with make all 3rd party software illegal unless they approve it policy?  Or did they dump it after it got leaked?

They still do it, it's just they've approved a huge amount of software since Vista.

They're still doing it, but only for Metro-based software.

... what?

I will test these games for you now

Checklist:
Blockland Failed. (For me anyway) a driver update may be all that is required, however.
Garrys mod Passed!
Counter Strike Source Passed!
Minecraft Failed. (For me anyway) mentioned bad drivers once again.

You may need other people to check this. My drivers might just be out of date and that is why blockland and minecraft have failed

I have all of those, and yes, they will.

I can guarantee that all those games will definitely work so long as you meet the minimum requirements for Windows 8 and have the latest drivers.

The only reason CS:S and GMod ran is because they use DirectX, and the generic Windows drivers have full support for DirectX. Minecraft and Blockland both failed to run is because they use OpenGL, which the generic Windows drivers have little to no support for. Update your drivers, if you're questioning yourself about it, why not do it?

and this is the common bandwagon forgeter who likes to join the windows 8 sucks bandwagon

and yes, they should work on windows 8.
>have used windows 8 preview
>have expierenced how stuff it is
>it is designed for tablets/phones

>get called bandwagonner

you max, are a friend

I have windows 8 because it was cheaper to buy it then windows 7 for my new pc build and I was really against it at first too. I've been using it for more than a month so far and I have gotten used to it. It's actually pretty cool and I really don't miss the old start bar. Windows 8 is faster and has less resource usage too, and if the new design irks you, then you can change it with this method:

Or alternatively get Start8 which adds some nice customization options.

Totally worth the $5
