I personally believe that God may have in fact set into motion the universe as we know it. The mere chance that earth would randomly be created in the perfect condition for life is simply unfathomably small.

At least scientists are looking for another answer besides 'God did it'.
Genesis.
And they have yet to find an answer too.
well, except that there was a big explosion.

Anything with the possibility of happening, even a 0.000000000000000001% chance, WILL happen if given enough time.

And it wasn't random.

why would we not need telescopes? they probs all just that they were really big stars back then. but i mean idk, he's god, or it was written but someone along the way removed it and presented the new theory that earth was the center of everything (which was obv proved wrong later on)
we can only see like, one, or two without telescopes. assuming they saw the other stars, which clearly were bright, along with our own, then they should have known very well that the planets were not stars. and they did
Genesis.
...which is precisely "god did it"

THE BIBLE.

Also,
The lives God has changed and the desire wired into our brains to want a purpose and to serve something.

Are you kidding me, 3 new posts
Though shall not kill -> Rednecks threaten to kill big bag athiests everyday, also look at the spanish inquistion

Though shall not steal -> The bible heavily steals from pagan beliefs.

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor -> Salem witch trials, do I need to say more?

I disagree with this. In my opinion, science and theism aren't mutually exclusive.

If god was real why would there be so many different religions?
I have no idea, why are you asking me?

The mere chance that earth would randomly be created in the perfect condition for life is simply unfathomably small.
That's an incredibly lame point, in my opinion.

The only reason any religions exist is because of prophets telling stories.

The reason the idea of science exists is because of hard facts that can be recreated over and over again with the same results. Unlike religion, where something happens once, thousands of years ago, and then cigarettes stumble around in churches trying to decipher some words of an ancient prophet who probably never even existed.

It is a small chance, but since we're life forms, of course we came to be on a world with conditions for life.

Also man just the idea of me exsisting and be self conscience makes me go crazy.

Probably should lock this before it gets out of control
Why? It's just one topic, if you don't like it, don't open it.

Genesis.

Genesis is the 'god did it' part.

And they're looking for the answer. The fact is, we KNOW the universe is expanding. We can observe this. This means if we rewind time, it would contract into a single point. There wouldn't be an expansion if everything was just put here 6000 years ago.

I'm pretty sure this topic will blow up with some unpleasant things.

The problem with you guys is that you bash every single possibility in the hope of a true religion. You try to change someone into not believing and thinking like you do.
This is why these threads are stupid.

Also, it seems like whenever things like religion is brought up and someone disagrees, they try to make the other side sound as stupid as possible. It's like someone believing in God and you say, "Oh he's a magical guy with a beard".
You don't even bother to try and go into specifics or make your argument sound smart because you want to humiliate the other side as much as possible.

If you still don't know what I'm saying, I'm saying that you shouldn't try and change people by making whatever they believe in sound like a joke, because obviously it isn't for them, and your opinion isn't a joke for you either. If you die and there isn't a religion, you're dead, so you can't do anything about it.
