Statistics Revamp

Due to high demand from clients, we've completely revamped how we handle and store statistics about your RTB dedicated server. To give you an idea of how the backend works and how much data we're handling, we sample CPU and memory usage every 5 seconds and store it for 48 hours - that's 69,120 data points at a time just for resource usage. For bricks and players we sample every minute and store for 7 days, giving you great insight into your server's popularity and peak times.

We believe you should be able to see how your server is performing as and when you need to, no waiting for a minute for your statistics to catch up. In true RTB fashion we've gone the extra mile and created a statistics page where you can view live and historical (48 hours) resource usage and game statistics from the last 7 days, all compiled into fantastically designed graphs with brilliant navigation aids. As part of this release CPU usage has been removed from the dashboard chart in favour of this far superior page.

Nice work guys, all these extra features make the RTB hosting service unmatched, that's for sure.

one thing im sure almost everyone would find a great use for is automatic updating of RTB addons

Excellent work.

This is correct.

bought a server and so far satisfied

This is something we've been working on actually, given how many times it's been brought up. Most of the legwork is done in terms of determining which add-ons are outdated since that info is now available via an internal API, so it just requires a few backend changes to allow the update to take place.

I'm not sold on the idea of automated updating though - the original plan was just to display indicators and notifications in the interface (and via the in-game client when that's released) that updates were available for your server. Is automated updating with no user intervention something people think is important?

If the means are provided to install the updates quickly and easily, then I doubt clicking a button or two would be a real hassle. Besides, an auto-update still requires the server to be restarted to take effect in most cases, which is usually done manually anyway.

i'd rather it not auto update. sometimes handicapped mod makers decide to cut half the content in their pack or rename everything or some stuff, breaking it for everyone.

Why not make it an optional feature?  Something you can turn on if you want to, or keep off if you feel like Heed.

I'd say check for updates, display it on the website, send an e-mail (or in-game message, though I'd prefer the former), and provide a 1-click way to update either a single add-on or all of them (from RTB).

Something like that would be nice. Maybe add-ons could have check-boxes and you could select one or multiple add-ons for updating.

No.
Always ask the user whether he actually wants the update

Yea, it would be good if you could have settings on each mod so you can turn off auto updating on specific ones.

It would be nice if there was an update button next to the delete add-on on the list of add-ons you could press if there was an update.

Really liking this service so far. I will most likely buy a few more months when it gets down to $5 a month.

How do I change the brick textures for my server? Do I have to do something outside of the remote thing?
