Well, the cheapest 2012 car in America is the Nissan Versa. I think it looks decent, and since you're going to College, the large trunk could be useful.

I have an 08 Escape. I like it.

It's soon to reach 52,000 miles and has never had one problem. It has plenty of cargo room if needed and has been very reliable. My one complaint would be gas mileage. It's actually very good highway but I drive a lot of city miles and have to fill up quite often. I usually put in $20 every 2 days. I also drive around everywhere and have kind of a lead foot so I'm sure if you are a less speedy driver it would be better.

I personally like having a bigger vehicle, I also enjoy occasionally offroading and some times need to tow my ATV so an SUV is key.

How does your Escape handle?

we have an 03 or 02 crv, it has 200,000+ miles and never had any serious problems. not to mention parts for it are cheap.

It's all about that Mazda :)

How does your Escape handle?
Very nicely. Good braking and decent acceleration for an SUV. It also has a very good suspension, some bumps I've hit driving a car I barely or don't even feel when I hit them in the Escape.

Also, being winter time. Very good handling in snow. Last winter it snowed about 8"-9" so I took my Escape to an empty parking lot. The all wheel drive pushes through snow with no problem at all.

It shouldn't have any real problems before 52k, that's not really that much mileage at all.  I

I'm really considering buying one. They're also VERY comfortable in my opinion. Do you have the XLT or the XLS?

i dont get why single people get SUV's, they are clearly family/transportation vehicles, not casual sunday drive ones.

I hate SUVs.

Also please don't buy a car new.

Such a waste of money.

my parents have only bought one new car

A 2010 wouldn't be new. It's just newer.

Ah, do you mind me asking how much they're asking?
