This is the only YouTube update I slightly dislike just because of that, outside of that issue I'd be perfectly okay with it.

You would usually center all of the content and then add some kind of minimal texture so it doesn't look so bad. For some reason they decided to align everything to the right, making it look like stuff.

The point of Youtube is to watch and upload videos, but people don't want to see this hideously colored or arranged site that makes it hard to get around or whatever

People want something that's comfortable to look at and navigate
