Author Topic: Centered glass bricks, that go inside other bricks  (Read 2160 times)

I would like window bricks that are colourable and use prints. They would not be as thick as regular bricks, but half as thick or less.
Centering them would be of importance. The (current) problem when you're making a window that isn't square, is that you have to make the walls at least three bricks thick, and you might also have to ruin the æsthetic of the build, just to make the windows look the same on both sides.

Let's say you're making windows in the style shown below. You want those pillars and pilasters to look nice, right? Well you can't, if you're going to have glass in them, because you'd have to split them in two and it'll look all horrible and stuff.

Basically, a thin brick that can be built inside any other brick. Preferably not of the same category as zone bricks (I don't know how this works).
It would (obviously) also be useful to have these bricks in both horizontal and vertical fashions.

Total Support. This would be awesome and you could make almost any brick a window.

This part isn't possible, unless BadSpot decides to add more than 2 bricklayers.

Hey, it's that thing that I suggested and nobody listened

I support this whole-heartedly, and from what I have seen this is not very difficult to make.

If you're fine with the brick not having collision then sure.

would you like to explain this?

The only method to have a brick inside another brick and not make it a water brick is to make the brick visually larger than it actually is.

This just makes me want to ask seven more questions. :|

Well you could do this, and then put bricks in the window with rendering off, and it would have the same effect.

What? I have no idea what you're trying to say here.

Just roll with water bricks. It will work much, much better.

Place your window brick
Place bricks inside the area it fills up
Make those bricks invisible

It's pretty loving simple man

I'm still not getting it.

Why would you make your window frame invisible?

If you have a window frame that you need to completely fill in, and you can't do that because the window is a shape like a circle-window or something, then just use the window glass brick and it will fit inside any window frame shape you want
