The Universe Project

I have recently stumbled across the development of this game which has peaked my interest immediately, I'll tell you folks some of the features which have widen my eyes entirely.
Have you ever wondered what games would be like in a hundred years? Here is your answer.
The Universe Project.
A new development which has recently hit the table, this game is offering huge ideas and features which have never been seen before in this era of gaming.
- You start as a person, such as you would be in a MMORPG. But guess what? You have a world literally the size of earth itself. Interested? Good, there is plenty more.
- You will be able to invent, develop, build, raise, grow, conquer, steal, etc. -all- on your own call. And nothing will limit you.
- The world is your canvas. Literally. You can have your own towns with other live people, unite entire armies to conquer, build kingdoms and nations, all that good stuff.
- Going back to having a world the size of our own Earth, I ment it. It would literally take you a year in game to traverse the world yourself.
- You may gain in technology. And guess what after this? You have the entire UNIVERSE to yourself as you enter space. And there will be plenty more ideas as the game pushes forward into development.

Will never be finished.

the above 2 people are idiots.

i am REALLY looking forward to this. hope this gets finished soon.

They don't have any progress whatsoever to show outside of concept stuff.

Will never be finished.

It's impossible to know if they have any progress, but the more it is supported the more the delay is decreased. Nonetheless I would donate. It's a brilliant idea.

I don't know, with some clever use of procedural generation, along with the miracle you'd need to shrink it down to anything less than a few exabytes, it could be relatively easy to produce in the next decade or two.

It's certainly a wonderful concept. It'd be very interesting if you couldn't exactly pick which planet you'd be put on, so that when you reach space you could discover and negotiate with other civilizations of players.

So its like minecraft?

In a serious note, This looks very interesting. However I have my doubts.

its going to be isometric view for those who don't know.

What will the game look like?
Top view, Isometric (Diablo style), and later fully 3D first person. All three game styles will be playable together during the transition to 3D so the world doesn't have to be fragmented. Here are two concept screenshots from the most recent graphics version...

The fully 3D version will come after the game has been released at which point more funding will be available to do it right. 3D is actually easier to manage, with 2D graphics, you have to rely on tricks to make it look seamless, so the move to 3D is an inevitable one.
3D clients will have the option to continue with the top-down view or first person (whatever the player is more comfortable with). This will allow players who are not comfortable with the first-person mode to play the game easily.

Is that a referral link or not? I can't tell. Either way, if it is you might wanna remove it, it's against the rules.
