I came.

Anyhow the trailer hints at this being a prequel. I also believe the knight in the trailer is Solaire for a few reasons. I really hope they fix all the stupid stuff that was in Dark Souls.

Dark Souls kicked my ass for a solid 4 hours in the first city before I realized I wasn't up to the challenge.

What if the guy in the trailer is Solaire of Astora?
He has furry shoulders and the girl gives him a feather, like the one on his helmet in DkS
And the way the character stares at the Sun immediately after being mortally (I think) wounded, like he could not achieve his goal, (reaching the sun?).
if the guy is Solaire, then we could have a prequel set in Astora, or since the City in the distance when you see the hooded girl (who might be the Firekeeper) looks like Anor Londo, maybe a pilgrimage to Lordran is a plot point?

Dark Souls kicked my ass for a solid 4 hours in the first city before I realized I wasn't up to the challenge.

When I first got Dark Souls I got my ass kicked for a good eight hours. I finally set the game down for the day and picked up tomorrow. When the next day came, it was as if something clicked and I immediately began doing better. Dark Souls just takes a bit of trial and error to beat.

I also just re-watched the trailer and I am definitely convinced that is Solaire.

1. One point in the trailer, the narrator says, "Forever without LIGHT..."

In Dark Souls, Solaire had basically gone bat stuff insane looking for his "sun". This makes me believe that the knight in the trailer was Solaire before he went bonkers.

2. The one girl in the trailer (haven't come up with any theories as to who she is, maybe the fourth knight of Gywn?) gives the knight a feather.

Solaire wears a feather on his helmet in Dark Souls. Small connection but Dark Souls has always known to be subtle.

3. The knight's armor.

Solaire's armor is extremely similar to the armor in the trailer. The only significant difference is the helmet and the lack of an emblem on the chest piece.

4. Last but not least, only Solaire could kick that much ass in the trailer.

I doubt it, the firekeepers all had physical impairments. If you're referring to the mute one in Firelink Shrine then that can't be her either. The one in Firelink Shrine had like purple hair if I remember or something of similar shade.

Wait, the pygmy was during the Age of the Ancients. So either Dark Souls 2 is before the Age of Fire which I doubt or it's Miyazaki trolling us again. I think it's set about in the early Age of Fire.

as someone who hasnt played dark souls i found this post friggin hilarious

also are these games really that hard or is that just people playing up the difficulty to make it seem impossible when its really just a bit more difficult than average

Yeah it's a prequel but it looks like it's set during the EARLY Age of Fire. Dark souls was set at the END of the Age of Fire.

The game will always challenge you. After playing it for a year, I still die a stuff load of times. And even if you master the game, there's always the opportunity to get your ass kicked by another player.

But theyre looking at what looks like Anor Londo, she could either be going there or meeting the character/maybe First Born outside of the city

I only have like 12 hours in Darksouls and i still have no idea how to get past the 1st area in the underground :c
