Author Topic: 200 bucks if I bring 3 F's to C's  (Read 8596 times)

the LOWEST grade I have is a C
and even that makes me feel like stuff

I have ADHD, and I do great in school.
But what bugs the stuff out of me is when people tap their pencils on their desk, I'll ask them to stop, and then they'll be doing it five minutes later. Sometimes I get so bothered I have to go to a small group room.

I had one kid that had breath that smelled like beef jerky and he kept annoying people.

Lucky me he failed advanced math

I used to think school was stupid, but this year was different.  I took a look around and thought about things for a second.  Our whole world is amazing.  From mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry our languages, interactions, etc.  Its really cool.

Think about how your computer is working right now, how all the lines of code mesh together and run so perfectly that you have the blockland forums open right now.  Or how all the tiny pixels on your screen align perfectly, how they update and re-arrange at ridiculously high speeds.
How your brain is sending signals to your muscles to contract and pull, making your fingers move and type on the keyboard.
How when you take a step and your foot hits the floor, friction acts on it making you move forward instead of just falling right through.  Or how when a pencil falls off your desk, it doesn't fall through the floor.  But is stopped by it instead.
How our bodies are able to fight off diseases and harmful things by itself.
When music is emitted from your headphones just by a small amount of material vibrating in a certain speed producing sound waves which your brain picks up, and processes.
How people can communicate and understand each other through language and body language.
The fact that when certain objects collide or touch each other they can light on fire, or explode.
Or how you can tell how far away our sun or moon is with a ruler, coin, and a little measurements.

The world is an amazing place, and learning about it is just as cool.  Try paying attention and everything will open up, and reveal how loving crazy the world we live in is.

If any of this information is slightly incorrect, please do not freak out or kill me.

I don't have an issue with learning, i have an issue with the fact that the grading system is so unforgiving. "you missed some homework? you get a zero and your grade dropped six points. You got a hundred on that other homework? your grade didn't move at all."

I believe the grading system is alright, although I believe that homework should be able to be made up for at least partial credit.

Okay, got my science test back, my science grade is now a "D", (I got a A on it). I got my math quiz back and I got a B.

I didn't even try in K-12 and I got into college fine.

Ugh, this.

It's like however hard I try to bring up my grades they go up at snail-pace so it's like a battle to try to get atleast a C.

End of the semester is in 14 days.

Same, I actually got a full tuition scholarship too. Though I wish I learned how to properly study in highschool because it was a bit of a bitch adapting to college

Thats what my teacher was telling us, that even if were one of those kids who gets by without studying we'd still better learn now because she said college can be a bitch
