Author Topic: Elementary school shooting. ~28 dead, 20 children, 6-7 teachers, 1 shooter  (Read 19779 times)

Hey, to all of you who think that the gun laws should be relaxed:

A school attack happened in China this last week. Same situation. Elementary school and everything.
Guess why the killer didn't succeed?
He had a knife. He didn't have access to a gun in the first place. The police kicked his ass before he could do any damage.

I'm sorry, but your point isn't really credible considering that Connecticut is heavy on strict gun laws.

Why isn't it credible?
There's a reason the Chinese school attack failed :u He didn't have access to a gun in the first place.

He had a knife, this guy had a gun.
And criminals don't need to follow gun laws in the first place.

Psst. Its not hard to get access to an illegal weapon. His issue was he just didn't think ahead. This point is null.

But you're missing the point. It's harder to find an illegal weapon, carry it illegally, and then use it properly, as opposed to strolling in to your mom's place, picking it up, shooting her, and leaving.
He had a knife, this guy had a gun. That's the point.
And criminals don't need to follow gun laws in the first place. See above.

Yea I'm sure chinas a wonderful place actually but I'll just stay here Thank you

But you're missing the point. It's harder to find an illegal weapon,
And I just stated before that its not. I've lived in China 6 years. And it's no exception.

smugglers tend to avoid the more centralized places in china do the fact they have an army of cops and they cooperate with the goverment better than the us. I bet somewhere out there the more isolated farming communities there are armed bandits.

Even then, the bold smugglers keep good shops going, literally underground.

Don't even get me started about how corrupted some of our police forces are. ;-;

In China, the number of people who die from handguns out of every 100,000 is around 1.1. In the US, it's around 4.6. Does that mean nothing?

It means absolutely nothing. Illegal access to firearms is not deterred. It's not a hard concept to grasp. And thats only the civilian death rating based on criminal activity in heavily populated areas. You will find firearms all over the villages scattered throughout china, and unrecorded "statistics" you are so fond of using. From what I've seen, it's far different.

Um

Didn't that guy hurt 20 kids?

Fair enough.
And they're not unrecorded. I don't know why you assume I'm just pulling numbers out of my ass.
Trust me, I'm a terrible bullstuffter.
So how about Japan, then? They have as few as two gun-related deaths a year. What are they doing right that we aren't?
Ohhhh, right.

(those statistics are nothing to sneeze at.
