OK here is the deal. I was contacted by a local store of unknown type, an ebayer that lives nearby. (was contacted on ebay messages)
Before i had any bids, he was trying to make deals for these 2 sales, for me to drop em off at his shop and we just do this cash.

The minimum starting price i had, which was 600 and 400 bucks, he offered to pay me the 1k.

Of course i put these as my minimum just to get some views. i intend to get at least 500 and 700 for them. The guy argued with me back and forth for about 20 messages. claiming i will never get anything good from it (after ebay and paypal fees, i would come out at a loss over his offer) and that i would never in a million years sell for spot price or higher.
I declare that buyers on ebay arent all trying to recycle things, and may just want it at spot+premium price, just for personal investment keepsake.

-------------------
So basically, if i dont get 1200 or more, i am a huge starfish and this will greatly hurt my ego. i may even have to kill myself over it.
And i will let you all get a free shot at me.

Who cares what ebay thinks?

i do x.x

its me fighting with other collectors and recyclers.
when you are told you are handicapped at what you do best, and its true, that deserves a kick to the nuts.

cant fail

holy stuff $400 for assorted gold and silver scrap rings?
what the forget dude?

Wait are you selling 4 or 5 different rings or a big box of them?

this is just the 6 all together.

it may be hard to sell junk jewelery for spot price. as they arent good for investing, and people tend to WANT to melt them.
but i swore i could x.x

Yeah but $400 for a few rings? jeez.

If you do kill yourself over it, make sure to give me your eBay account before you do it.

Tell him it was forged by your great great grandfather, the duke of harimburough.

Might put a bid on those rings... Need to get in my paychecks though

Wait, he offered you something before you even ever bid on it...?

wut

lol i didn't know you were taking it this seriously. I cant believe that guy is STILL messaging you lol

im selling them. not buying.

Regardless of whether you make what he was offering its not his place to be trying to short sale you because he probably wants to turn around an sell them for what you are wanting to get. If he wants them so bad he should bid on them, plain and simple. It'd be like posting something on Craigslist and someone telling you that you should sell it to them for 50% less than what you want simply because they want it for that.

So no, I'd say that you're not being an starfish, but the other guy is.

Above is exactly what I thought when I read this.

Why not just let him have it for his price if you don't get any bids? I admit I know nothing about how this stuff works, but It seems like it would be a good idea.
