I think the reason everyone liked Blockbase's is because it uses default bricks, so nothing extra has to be added, unlike your tree pack, it looks like.

blockbase trees don't use default. plant bricks are essential.

Ooh, Can you make a great big oak tree?

Plant bricks look to realistic for most builds' needs.

But some of them don't fit Blockland's style. Some of them. Not all.

not for mine and plenty others i know; and my builds aren't that detailed at all. maybe you should try adding a little extra detail to your builds?

there is no "blockland's style" everyone has their own way of building. personally i hate it when people make trees out of cubes, basic bricks and plates.

It's not that my builds are lacking detail, it's the "more is less" art rule.  Blockland has had an established build format (blocky, bulging, enunciation where it is needed).  The builds that you would be aiming to include your trees in are not typical Blockland build formats, and in my opinion are not the best builds.  The best are those that utilize bricks in a semi-detailed way, large build.  Too many details distract the eye from the main point of the build.  Using your over-complicated tree style just looks over-vertexed and unneeded, while the characteristic Blockland block or ramp tree would compliment builds better, as they involve less eye-drawing detail.  The point in good detail is to not look fancy and over-done as much to make people interested in only that detail.  The point in detail is to draw enough attention to the primary build so as to draw in people to enjoy the build.  Bland, poorly made builds are rejected by the community, while the small but extremely detailed builds, like Furdle's zombie map I saw a little time ago, are just overly detailed, and are in the end just wasted effort and an unneeded distraction.

Sure, maybe if you want to just make a thing look pretty and post it on the forums for some people to ogle about for a week or two, the go ahead and use your over-complex trees.  But I can tell you this, the best blockland builds are those that can involve players, especially those that involve the players in an immersive, well planned and built build.  The best builds are those that focus on the player's accessibility in the game.  Meaningless details in the most minuscule places build up the brick count, to the point where a continuation of that same detail level would only permit the size of the build to be smaller than the average, enjoyable build.  Want to know the most popular servers?  It's unfortunately knife DMs and boss battles (according to rough estimates in the past few weeks.  These servers don't use heavy detail to express what they need, they just use enough to draw people in, because enough detail in the build is enough detail for people to immerse themselves in when playing the game.  Some of the least populated servers are freebuilds and pre-made builds, because the heavily detailed ones draw attention for only a short while, then after a short while, everyone who cared at least a little list interest, and so stopped visiting the server.  People return to servers that they can enjoy differently every time, typically DMs.

Be careful with your words next time, as what you said, "maybe you should try adding detail a little extra detail to your builds?" got me into a conflictual moody state, which gets me ranting quite often.  Once I start writing my rants, I just blank out and let the rage flow.  It's not that I can't include detail into my builds, it's that I choose not to so that I can increase playability of the server.
