They said it was fake. The world isn't going to end. On tv there was a show where they found another mayan calendar that goes for thousands of years from the 21st.
There are less than 1000 mayans left living. All mayan cities are dead, as of 1000-500 years ago. Their calendar isn't like ours where we have one up on the wall, it's more like Stardates from Star Trek. Their language is confusing and varies from city to city, so we don't know a whole lot about them. The "tv show" you saw, was most likely Aleksander Tschovasky-level crap.
