Never been to the bahamas, but my grandparents are building a house in Costa Rica, I'll be going there for March Break. Also been to several villas there (NOTE: RESORT YOU GET stuff AND WALK AROUND IN PARADISE, MY GRANDPARENTS ONLY PAY FOR VILLAS WHERE YOU AHVE TO BUY AND MAKE YOUR OWN FOOD ETC. ITS FUN, BUT CAN BE ANNOYING) Also been to Cuba and Dominican Republic. The place I went to in Cuba had a nice area for snorkeling, because they had a massive pier. I also got stung by a jellyfish there.
I've been to Dominican Republic twice, first time I was only 7, it was fun I guess but I was a bit too young to appreciate it. Last year I went again, and had a great time. There was a reef like from 50-250m out fromt he beach. I snorkelled everyday. Saw weird massive underwater centipedes of a neon/fluorescent colouring they were pretty cool (one was like 20cm long and another 30cm long) Also saw a few rays in the sand, don't expect them to just be freely swimming about, only the massive oceanic ones do that and they're deep in the ocean, the ones I saw were about 50cm in diameter and just hid in the sand and quickly went away when you got near. Also saw plenty of pretty fish amongst the coral, and had a scary expierence when I got to the other side of the reef and it was just blue eveyrwhere and i was liek "uhhhhhhh" and swam very fast back to shore.
