Admin Applications are a horrible idea

I think giving admin privileges to someone just because they're your friend is an awful system because then they believe that's an excuse to forget around when their responsibility is to properly manage the server. Then when they do go loving around you're less inclined to stop them because you're their friend, and the whole server goes to stuff. Sure trust is a factor in administration and I'm not saying don't give these positions to your friends, but make sure they're responsible first.

In some ways, you are right, in other ways, wrong.

Sure, a couple of badmins might spark up, but they can always be punished. And if someone sees an admin screwing my server up, I added a de-admin form. I hope that doesn't get abused out of jealousy.

Can take that out later if it seems like a bad idea.
Besides, I put if they abuse the admin revoke form, the person gets banned for at least a week.

Why the forget do people want admin so badly? Aside from trolling, some people actually take it seriously. All it does is give you more responsibility and things that you cannot do. Sure, you can teleport, kick, ban and whatnot but only to an extent. Any host with common sense would actually know who he's giving admin to.

Other than that you CAN ask around and go "was this guy actually one of your admins?"

I agree with the OP.

Admins Apps are not an ideal way of getting an administrative team. I know it's like applying for a job in some sense, but this is one of those cases where these privileges are earned. I think we should stop using apps.

I know that sometimes finding good admins is hard, but believe me, they're out there. You just gotta keep on lookin'.

To a degree this is correct. You check a lot of threads that are about a server, with admin apps, and the majority of the pages will just be comments about apping, that is the forum thread is the only place to apply your app. Not much contribution towards the server on that thread, just post over post of a long "cn i b admin pls"

Name: Look up their BL_ID on RTB.
BL_ID: Click on their name to go to their profile to confirm it.
RTB: Look up that person on RTB.
Reason: Simply decide weather or not it's a good reason.

I think that only people that know how to write a decent admin app should be accepting them for their servers.
Just my opinion, and I dislike the admin application idea in general.
