How would I kill somebody? I would find the road they drive the most that is a not commonly commuted. Then I would stalk their house and cars to figure out their name and age, along with the licence plates for their cars. I would then obtain a method of reading their licence plate(s) reliably and use the reader to detonate explosives under their car.

Your method makes you too attached to the target. Never become attached. It's best to use a pressure trigger under the seat. You wouldn't normally need to find out the name and car of your victim, the information needed is given to you by the higherer.

I think I would need info to impound his car anyway. A pressure on the seat might cause too much distraction, especially if he lives in a crowded place.

If you'd want to track the car, just bug it with a locator. You could remotely detonate when they are in an unpopulated area. But you'd have to be ready to dispose of the wreckage if you want it clean.

Except the way that the remains ended up, I'm assuming certain types of explosives cause different types of explosions.

ex: C4 might detonate differently than nitroglycerin, which kind of explodes when it wants to.
