Stick with windows 7 and wait for windows 9, it *should* be a good OS.

if you're a tinfoil hat wearing luddite, sure, wait a few years.

I think my IPhone is rigged.

I tried to vote yes, but in trying to press yes twice it instead selected 'No' and 'Submit'.

Fml

Actually, it's stable, fast, and easy-to-use.

Don't know why you guys are hitting on. Just because it's new and NOT YET compatible doesn't mean it's bad.
I have the OS. It's about as fast as Win 7. It's really unstable, crashes every hour even when im not doing anything, has major compatibility issues, and they tried to streamline it so much that they ended up making it confusing and stupid.
The start menu looks like it belongs on a cell phone.

wtf is this supposed to mean?

It is. They tried to mix a tablet OS with a Desktop OS.

it means "if you're a crazy conspiracy nut who really believes that every other version of Windows is good and bad alternating, by all means wait for like 3-5 years for the next version of Windows", considering Windows 7 was released like fall 2009.

Make a decision for yourself for once.

I bought a cheap laptop on Black Friday, that came with Windows 8. It was a little annoying at first, but I purchased Start8 for like 5 bucks, and the start screen is no longer in my way.
I haven't had any compatibility issues, and to be honest it's not that bad. I still prefer my Windows 7 machine though.

I'm dual booting Win8 and Linux on the laptop.

I'm switching back to OSX. Windows is just ugh.

do you even technology properly

If you don't like change then stick with windows 7 is what I'd suggest.

Other than that it looks like a fine OS to me, Don't understand how you can use the fact that the UI looks similar to that of a Phone as an excuse to not buy it.

And i tried Linux, looked friendly enough, until i ran into some problem and the way to fix it was a crap load of commands and configurations through the terminal. I hate that terminal. Its what will always put me away from the Linux distros. I hate them and the way you work with them, when you type in a command you have no idea whether it's been executed the way you wanted it to or what the hell it did in the first place.

But that's just my opinion and severe need for a GUI.

Stop posting in my threads if you have nothing to contribute. Thanks.

I'm on the fence about Windows 8. However, in it's defense, you can disable the Metro Start and go with the classic Start Menu (since that's what seems to turn everyone off). It's pretty much Windows 7, but I'd be upgrading from Home Premium to Professional for a very small fee. Plus, the installer is transferring over all of my files, pictures, programs, and accounts.
