I get the whole health thing, but I dont understand how fat could be considered ugly and repulsive.

Evolutionary speaking: I have no idea. I don't think our ancestors ever encountered that problem :P My guess is that everything to skinny/fat is not as suitable for reproduction, thus less attractive.
I think the norm of what is considered "ugly" is mostly formed by science and society. That's why there've been lot's of different body ideals through the ages. You also have to consider the other things often associated with, but not necessarily directly connected to thickness. Examples would be that fat people often have low self esteem, have a "weak" mind and are looked down on socially. But one can also turn it around and say that fat people are strong individuals.
These things also come into play when you judge fat people as unattractive/attractive based on their body.

You can't have a "survey" with 4 participants, lol. For all I know you could even have been selective with the results you got. Also, the question should not be "which of these women do you find the most attractive?" but "which of the body types do you find the most attractive?". How cute their faces are, skincolor, hair, age etc. should not be taken into account.

"Representative selection" meaning preferably 10.000+, all age groups, social background, etnicity etc.  

I remember seeing such a study was made by the Berlin University. I found evidence that the test was performed with 50.000 people, but I can't find the actual results :/
Anyways, one test group was asked to select the most attractive woman from a set of pictures, while the other group was supposed to create the "ideal woman" on a computer program (similar to the character creator from the Sims, but more advanced). Surprisingly, both groups agreed that the ideal proportions are about 90-60/70-90 (that being measured in centimeters for chest, waist and hip, respectively), which are the proportions of a "normal" model. I think the woman in the middle comes close to that, but probably a bit more to the right side.

Fat women are well nourished and therefore more likely to survive / raise a child. It's your basic instincts kicking in, I guess.

women that fat are significantly less likely to survive, and since fat people seem to raise fat children for some reason, the children would be less likely to survive as long as well. unless they have a good, responsible father, who isn't fat and doesn't want the children to be fat. or I guess they could both be fat as long as they still want their child to be healthy. my parents don't really care, but they're both pretty big, and I'm not nearly underweight or anything but I'm a lot smaller than them...
