Because people like you are lemmings who create make-believe special interestes for your persona's to look "Cool" because you notice that a certain peer you look up to has a special interest and you see this as an opportunity to make a good(I wouldn't call it that) first impression so you can eventually befriend this user just so you can make yourself feel better about whatever it is you need to compensate for by lying.
