Author Topic: Whats wrong with my Ipod?  (Read 856 times)

I have an Ipod 4th gen, and it wont play vocals through headphones, but will do it fine through speakers. Every headphone and earbud I use has the same result. I can ear the rest of the music, but the vocals is either missing or can barely be heard. I tried using the vocal booster setting in the EQ settings, but it only barely helps. Any ideas on how to fix this? I was just going to reset it tomorrow, but if there is an easier or better way please let me know. Thank you.

That would be a very nice thing to have as a setting to turn vocals on/off

but yea it wouldn't be so cool for it to be stuck that way

That's a very unique issue, I've never heard of anything like it before.
Did you try turning it off and on again?
I'd like to say try a bunch of different songs from various artists because it almost sounds like an issue with the music files/the ipod's way of transmitting them, but I really don't know.
Sorry if you have to reset it. Restoring everything sucks.

Also, did you just get this ipod for christmas? If it's still broken after a reset you may be able to exchange it.

I had the issue. But it was my headphones, So ya, Sorry.

i got it a while back after trading in a 1st generation and I've already played every song in my ipod and used pandora and youtube.
i have all my apps and music backed up so it'll take only a few minutes to get it all back

There's probably something wrong with the iPod

I had the same problem with my T.V I played anything on it and no vocals would come out. I would go get it repaired or see what apple can do

Never mind, apple wont help for stuff unless you have there stuffty ass warranty.

i bought it from my brothers gamestop. and i think he put a year warranty on it. I'll ask him about that later

Take it to the Genius Bar, they will help regardless of warranty status.

They just go behind the counter and google it.

Well they don't do they? All the small problems I've had with my phone and laptop were resolved there and then at no cost. Seriously OP, book an appointment and take it in.

Watch BLF show up as a result

Edit: wait a minute, isn't that what geek squad does?
I once had a problem with my comp and asked them about it. They came back 20 minutes later and told me nothing more than what I already knew.

I just googled. Found a post on the apple forums that had a guy with the same problem. Turns out in the end you just have to replace it. So I'm hoping my brother put a year warranty on the ipod.

every apple solution is "replace it"

I'm still going to try reseting it. If that doesn't work then i'll just replace it.
