I know, I like MISERY because it adds more challenge.  It gets LITERALLY pitch black some nights. You also have to pick your Specialization from your military training. So you if you choose the Sniper Spec. you will be LESS efficient with other weapons.

What do you not enjoy? The open-worldness of these games(specifically SoC and CoP) can be a bit be-takening. At the start of CoP i just wandered around the Barge for awhile because it was dark and it was too scary and I didn't know what to do. Also, bloodsuckers at night are SCARIEST loving THING EVER.

Ooh, that sounds fun actually. Pair that with a HUD that just shows your health and any status icons very small and trans in the corner and holy stuff that'd be fantastic.

I think these are probably my favorite single player games. I have ~130 hours between all three of them.

I have 300+ hours between all of them and have completed them all several times.
I didn't like MISERY much, once I got the AN-94 and upgraded it a bit it was about as difficult as any other mod I've ever played, that includes People Soup, but that isn't why I disliked it, I disliked it because STALKER mod makers seem to have this concept that their mod can only be difficult, scary and atmospheric if they make everything visually disgusting.

I hate to break this to you, guys, but radiation doesn't magically cause plant-life to decay and turn brown, Pripyat is like a lush green forest these days

Lol, I just bought CoP on amazon and it downloaded for 12 hours. I opened it up this morning to find out it needs another stalker game to play. 6 hours to go on CS >.>

I think you may have gotten duped, all of the STALKER games are standalone and require nothing else to play

No, after looking at the requirements I do see that I need another game. Good thing I had an extra $5

You should probably put in the OP that the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series was based off the book Roadside Picnic by the Strugatsky brothers. Just to give a bit of background info.

Are you sure you read the requirements right? Because none of the Stalker games require a previous game to run.

No, he's right. Amazon versions of STALKER are Legacy and have TAGES DRM protection. Legacy means you have to have a previous game to play.

Amazon has it's own downloader that takes close to an entire day to INSTALL the loving files so you can use the setup. I got done downloading the files and tried the setup but it said you need an older stalker game to install
