I have Shaders set to max, I guess having the little feather item equipped makes you able to see through bricks.

transparency in general is extremely buggy in torque and i don't think anyone's really ever specifically figured out why
similar things can be seen in things like transparent bricks on buildable vehicles and through cloaked butterfly knives with invisibility watch

You can make it through walls at least 2 bricks thick by backing a jeep up into a wall, switch to the back bumper seat, and the get out of the car. I got into a few enemy bases using this trick.
