Wow, I need a new monitor. I basically have a 60hz tv, and it doesn't allow me to increase the refresh rate past 62...

Well, yeah, even if it did let you increase it past 60 it wouldn't make any visual difference since the screen itself can only refresh 60 times per second.

I don't think that's correct.

When did 60 FPS become a low standard? I guess because i grew up with stuffty computers and consoles 30 FPS became normal for me and 60 FPS was great. I guess i just don't see the point in having more than 60 FPS unless i have the money to afford more than that.

Monitors are finally getting to that pixel density where your eye can't distinguish the individual pixels from a distance. 4K may be the highest resolution you'll ever need and computer hardware is catching up to the point where it can run it at 60 FPS. So since resolutions won't get any bigger and computer hardware is still getting faster we need someplace to put all of that horsepower, and soon the only place to go is higher refresh rates.

Just my theory.

If only they optimized 4k for more programs and games...I have a 4k screen on my computer and funny thing is, the only game that doesn't get smaller when I have 4k on is Blockland. The chats get super small though.

128GB version of this SSD is $10 more right now and better.

-computer stuff-
Ah, thanks Pecon, but I already submitted the list that Ninja Decoy made to my parents.
I did notice however, thanks to you Pecon, that the one ND made didn't have a DVD drive lol. Not that it really matters, the only disk I have is for Metro Last Light. (which is now tied to my steam account anyways.)

On that computer though, what would it use for connecting to the Internet? I can't use an Ethernet Cable, because that would be too many feet long to be practical lol. My current PC uses an antenna, and it connects to my PC using these 2 little tiny gold connectors. They look like very old TV Coax plugs, just a lot smaller.

Oh my god. Uh... I had to check my motherboard, I don't think modern motherboards have those ports anymore.

Actually yeah, this is my motherboard:

The one Pecon posted.

Basically the Wi-Fi thing that Pecon posted is what you're going to need.

Hm, is it possible to get antennae that just connect through the ethernet port?

I have a WiFi adapter suggested at the bottom of my list.

I would think it would be much easier for everyone if you EITHER do that big list and a pcpartpicker link, or just the pcpartpicker link on its own, since it already coems with links to the merchants.
I find all the parts through Newegg, putting it into pcpartpicker would take me another 10 minutes.
