I have an 8 gig stick of RAM in my computer. Can I put a 4 gig stick in to make it 12 gigs?


The RAM I'd get is nearly identical, it's just one is 8 gigs and the other is 4.

Yeah. You're already running single channel so it wouldn't slow you down. I'd still recommend getting a second 8 gig stick though to run it in dual channel for twice the speed.
