Yeh it is.
But it's overkill.
They of course recommend the most expensive thing they could find
You'llbe fine with a psu that has 500 watt and 2x 6pin connectors

BUT
To use that card efficiently
You need a mainboard that supports pcie 3.0 and an ivy bridge cpu. Do you have that?

Oh no, that wasn't the PSU they recommended. I just looked for a PSU that was on sale that had similar details to the recommended one, as a reference so to speak.

My motherboard has one PCI Express 3.0 x16 Expansion Slot, but my Intel i5-2310 is a Sandy Bridge. I was positive I could use the GTX 660 Ti without having to upgrade anything else. :/

Don't worry you can use it with that, but to use full power you need to upgrade the cpu.

his current setup won't bottleneck a 660 Ti at all

Yeah, pretty sure a couple of days ago I was wondering about it bottlenecking and a few people said it wouldn't.

Okay, so back to picking a PSU. What details from the PSU should I be comparing to my current components, and the GTX 660 Ti to make sure it's compatible? The SATA Power Connectors? The PCI-E Connectors? What?

It depends on the connectors your mainboard and other components/peripherals require. For example, say I have a computer with 2 SATA hard drives, a video card that requires an 8-pin and 6-pin PCIe connector, an IDE optical drive, and a 24-pin motherboard with 8-pin CPU connectors. I would need a power supply with at least 2 SATA power connectors, a 6+2-pin/8-pin and 6+2-pin/6-pin PCIe connector, a Molex connector, a 20+4-pin/24-pin connector, and an 8-pin/4+4-pin CPU power connector.
It's all really dependent on your setup. Any power supply (as long as it's decent quality) with sufficient connectors will do.

Don't worry you can use it with that, but to use full power you need to upgrade the cpu.
Jesus christ, you're the loving misinformation fountain for the forums. Almost every thread I see you come into and say something presented as fact, it turns out you're wrong. Off-topic, coding help, s+r, gd. Just loving stop already

There's another?! I could have sworn it was zeblote every time

Thinking about upgrading my laptop, cooling and power first, then memory and maybe some more RAM and processing power
There's this guy

There's this guy
No, that's a different kind of annoying. It's zeblote

So this PSU should be compatible?

I just used PCPartPicker as a reference, which filters out incompatible parts. I double-checked the details and it seems to check out.

Though, my current PSU's dimensions are 5.9"(W) x 3.4"(H) x 5.5"(L), while the one I linked is 6.7" x 5.9" x 3.4"
But my case's dimensions are 18.70" x 7.28" x 17.64"

Do you guys have any experience with XFX PSUs? The one I linked only has like four negative reviews concering it dying and such, but all the others people say it was great.

Seems as if that's a bit overkill for your system, a 550W or 600W would do at peak efficiency

So this would be a better option? Has the same dimensions as my current PSU, which is pretty cool.

There are a couple of dead-on-arrival cases, and one review that mentions it lasted for a week - but all the positive reviews seem to overshadow that, there are tons of them.

It would be a much better option.
