To be honest, I have no idea what the motherboard does. Worth upgrading then?
Let's say you want to upgrade your CPU.
Some motherboards aren't compatible with certain CPUs, so if you plan to get one that isn't compatible with the motherboard, get a new motherboard.

I also have another question.
With a graphics card, should I focus more on MHz or GB?
And should I get the Geforce GTX 670 or 680?

MHz. GB will not matter unless you run more than one monitor. If you are just running a single 1920x1080 monitor, then 2GB of VRAM is fine.

If you are just picking between the two, the GTX 670 is better price to performance and can easily be overclocked to be just as good if not better than a 680.

Thank you.

Also I have onnnne more question.
Is this a good gaming CPU?

GENTLEMEN.

Today I will be presenting you with the honorable pleasure on viewing the ultimate creation in PC case cooling. It is the most amazing and fantastic system that you could possibly find ever, anywhere...

Ladies and gentlemen, hold on to your testes. I give you: THE KANDALF.

This thing came with a built in closed loop water pump.

The donated PC that arrived with the case also included this older Asus P5E Republic Of Gamers motherboard.

Another thing... Look at the loving size of the radiator. 420MM extra-thick ThermalTake/OCZ radiator

You have just witnessed the Kandalf. Admire it's holy beauty.

Need a good cheap quiet cooler for socket AM3, under $30, any suggestions?

pfft single loop

cooling your ram, cpu, gpu and chipset all in different loops is what the kids are doing now

also my keyboard came today;

Don't remember who said I should get a 700W PSU, but in response: forget that. I'm pretty sure I'll be fine with a 500W PSU.

With NewEgg's PSU calculator, it says I need 401W with my current set-up. But changing the HD 6850 to a GTX 660 Ti, I only need 431W. That's 69W of headroom. So I should be fine with a 500W PSU for now, right?

most power supplies are most efficient at 80%, which is what you're at now on load (assuming)
it will work perfectly fine, but it won't be as efficient.

Is that max pull? I'd give myself at least 100W headroom, just in case. And having possible future upgrades in mind.

About the Kandalf: Looks meh. I don't like the design and color scheme. Inside should've been black, imo.

Yeah, it wouldn't hurt to upgrade it. NewEgg is having a 20% off sale on XFX PSUs too.

I've completely forgot what needs to be compatible with what when picking a PSU. Does it depend on my motherboard? My graphics card? What?

For example, my current PSU has a 2 x 6+2-Pin for PCI-Express Connectors. Should I be looking for a PSU that also has a 2 x 6+2-Pin?

It looks like its from 2005.

With those IDE connectors inside, I wouldn't doubt it.
