I'm gonna need another 8gb stick of ram if I'm going to be able to play The Witcher 3/R6 while listening to podcasts/music, anyone know where I can get one for the best price?
I found a pretty darn good sale on a prebuilt in case anyone is interested (as in: doesnt want to build a PC for some reason and is ready to get one within the next couple days). It's $900 (sale is only 4 days), after that may as well build the setup yourself.

i5 6600k, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB, and 2 RX 480s. Yes, you saw that right.
I probably don't know that I'm talking about but with two RX 480s I feel like you'd be getting diminishing returns unless you are running some stuff like maxed out GTA V at 4k. But I probably don't know what I'm talking about.

what about just cause 3 lol
it's got a memory leak or something
I used to have just 8GB but playing that damn game always forced windows to use page files and it got stuttery. so you know wtf I did? I bought two more 8GB sticks. now I can play just cause 3 just fine and I don't even have to close any of my million browser tabs
That's just personal preference then, or up your virtual memory (at the cost of disk space).

page files (i.e. virtual memory) was the problem, hard drive is much slower than ram
switching back to my SSD helped, but I feel like buying more actual ram was a better solution

still waiting for i7 skylake processors to drop in price

Alright I want to get an external hard drive. Western digital is tried and true but Seagate is much cheaper. Is Seagate good or stuff?

All my HDD's are Seagate and I got a 2TB External and it's gr8 m8

I'm having a problem where one port on my GPU won't detect any display I put on it.

It's one port, I have no idea what to do, but the monitor says "Cable not connected!" when I attach the cable, it says "no signal." what do I do?

I thought gpus have 3+ ports what
i don't have the other cable available is what I should have said

oh rip

if it's an HDMI, can't you go to a walmart or whatever store and get an HDMI to DVI adapter?

it's dvi and the only available port is a displayport

i want to know how to fix this

I'm current looking up for fixes, but do you have more than one DVI cable? If you do, swap cables and see if it fixes anything. Also test out the monitor on other devices to be sure it isn't the GPU

it's the port

images are distorting, so it's safe to assume the gpu is failing
forget
