Yes, Windows 8.1 64-bit, NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M.

I don't know if you've actually put any research into it, but NVIDIA GeForce Experience causes more issues than it's worth. Select a custom install and don't include it.

Oh ok, I actually didn't have GeForce Experience at that time.

this is really frustrating.

If the card is not being recognized properly then it's a possibility that the issue lies with the hardware itself.

Put the card in a different computer and try to install it. If a similar issue occurs, then it's probably the card.

Few pages ago someone made a terrible "dream pc", so I figured I would come up with one. Opinions?

not using a top-of-the-line 6-core lga2011 x79 cpu
shame

Did you make sure the installer isn't trying to install GeForce Experience?

I don't know if you noticed or not but it's a 540M lol

you could try manually installing the driver through device manager

I've had that happen before when windows installed a driver in it's place, Uninstall the graphics driver completely.

Also I've had zero problems with geforce experience, Apart from checking for updates taking bone achingly long for whatever reasons.

ugh, is there a single monitor out there from a decent brand like aoc, asus, benq, etc. Which has atleast a 120hz refresh rate or 144hz along with it being a ips panel, 16:9 ratio, 24' inch's, 1ms response time and light boost ready. And whats with that no ghosting bullstuff or is that only for keyboards?
