i'd like to get a second monitor for my PC and i wanted to know if there were any rules besides "make sure your computer actually has the correct output available (or have something that can let it)" i should know about

so long as your gfx card has two outputs and the threading capacity for two monitors, you're fine, there aren't really any other requirements.

I've got a situation I feel very stressed about
I want to get a portable gaming machine. I've had my eye on the new Razer Edge Pro for a few weeks now. All the info here

The other candidate is some sort of custom built laptop.

I hear that the battery on the Edge Pro isn't great but I also don't want to have to go through the hassle of custom building a whole friggin' laptop. The appeal of the Edge Pro is the ability to be able to play Skyrim, FTL etc. on my lunch breaks and I feel I'm restricted with laptop cause it would probably weigh much more than a tablet.
My budget is £800 - £900

What do you folk think?

if his power supply is modular, find the box that it came in as usually people store the extra cords in there

if not I guess you either use an adapter or you're out of luck

It's $80. If you want it go ahead. I classify a "good" keyboard to be the Gigabyte Aivia Osmium. That thing is amazing.

I'd recommend this one. I got it today and it's pretty cool. Three different colors of backlight. Mechanical. Numpad. Also it's like $20 off right now. I don't actually know what the specs mean though. :I But the typing is fun.

If it's a somewhat high end card aren't those adapters normally a bad idea to use?

Are you sure it's mechanical? It doesn't say anywhere in the product description. If it was, I think would say somewhere.
It says "normal" keys, not "mechanical"

He's gonna need an OS. If he doesn't play games, then cheaper = better. Most PC's can do internet browsing, play movies etc.
