is this good for gaming?

i want to pair it up with a i5 3570k and 7970, and expect to OC both

You can get 32gb 2600mhz ram on that mobo, that's a big plus.

that might help since i expect to do some HD video editing
i also want it because it also comes with free 8gb of ram

Don't be fooled by the size
I got my laptop because I thought it had a bunch of awesome specs, but it turned out that my 8gb ram was 600mhz and my 750gb harddrive was 5400rpm. That's pretty slow but I was fooled.

Which AMD CPU should I pick?

Quad-Core AMD FX-4170
Or
Six-Core AMD FX-6300

The FX-6300 has a higher passmark than the FX-4170, but is a six-core necessary for gaming?

this one
No, the other one would be about $5 more. Why wouldn't you get the better one?

the operating frequency is higher, but i know thats not the only important thing with a processor.

should i get 7970 for about 410 or gtx 680 for about 460
