ok so i'm going to install ubuntu on a partition, is there anything i should be aware of? an article i read said it automatically makes a partition.
I'd recommend any distro but ubuntu, but it should automatically give it at least 20GB of space and as much swap space as you have RAM. The manual partitioning tool isn't that hard to figure out anyways, you can just create one partition for "/" and one for swap.

Spook, got a question for you.

I plan to buy two of those SwiftTech Helix fans (which essentially look the exact same as the Gentle Typhoon fans...) do you already have them since you ordered them, and if so, are they any good + how do you go about doing custom black sleeving on the cables? :3

EDIT: I plan to mount these to my Corsair H100's radiator, and hopefully they're good for liquid cooling solutions.

Yes I did receive them already :) I am using them for a build in progress so I have only installed one of them. I intend on using the other two on the H100i I plan to get. I took pics with a 5th gen iPod Touch.

I ordered them from FrozenCPU and they came in three days. They ship out from Rochester NY and I'm in CT so it's pretty close. I got these fans with custom Bitspower cable sleeving and I also requested the replacement of the connector for a black connector. To do this just go to this link and select the fan you want. I got the first option, the 12V 120mm, and in the options below the fan select the choices you want such as cable sleeving etc.

I got these because from benchmarks I have seen and read they are about just as good as Gentle Typhoons, they are cheaper, they are very quiet, and the blade color is a true white. I can also say that the build quality is very good. The fans don't have much flex to them at all.

brother got some serious swag

But can someone explain what is better to get?

The FTW edition comes preset with a higher core clock and a higher boost clock. The SC+ is just a bit lower, but they both overclock to pretty much the same clocks when you manually overclock them.

I ordered 2 Helix 120s with UV blue sleeving. c: Hoping they go well with my rad.

I'd give him credit if he got it to run 1fps

I just hooked up an extra monitor I had laying around as a third. This is the first time I've ever used 3 monitors. I now want to buy a 3rd monitor that's the same model as the one I have and a monitor stand. The only problem is that it'll cost me like $600, life is rough.
