So after I took my laptop to Best Buy after the constant crashing (where they updated a video driver and called it good), I just got a completely new bluescreen, along the lines of "attempted to write read-only memory"
This is also an error that could be caused by an issue with the RAM but they said that all hardware was fine.

Just finished my new PC build, but am using the same GPU...what are your guys' GPU suggestions?

Current Build:

Case
  +Motherboard
    -CPU
      *Cooler
    -GPU
    -RAM
  +PSU
  +SSHD Hybrid Drive
  +DVD RW/Blueray
Monitor
Keyboard
Speakers
Mouse
OS

I have been considering one of Radeon's R9 series due to excellent price performance ratios, but heard they can get quite loud.  Looking for 3gb+ VRAM

Microsoft Developer Network suggests it's a driver issue.

I've been considering getting a small long-life SSD for putting all my heavy applications on and leaving the HDD to deal with other fluff, any thoughts on this?

it would make more sense to get an i5 cpu with your budget.
and HOLY stuff that psu is extreme overkill. with a single high end card, even 600w is more than enough. with a 7850, 500w should be perfect.

I have a ATI HD 5700 with a if running at 4 GHz

People asked what i have when i said should i upgrade to a R9 270X

My brother wants a computer for around a grand. How is this? Are the brands good or no?

You can find a 760 for less money

Aside from those things, looks solid to me

would make sense if you went for the current gen intel line instead. you could find ram for 30 bucks cheaper. 750w is overkill unless you know you are going to be buying a 2nd video card. ssd brand looks lefty. and just a complete personal preference, I like to have a single hard drive instead of a ssd + hard drive combo because of less hassle and whatnot

My brother wants the computer to boot up fast which is why I'm getting both hard drives.

I don't get all the craze with booting up quickly. I mean, most people seem to never even turn their computers off very often... Now yes, I understand that an SSD will make apps and stuff open faster, but why does everyone get so excited about boot times? Even if you shut down your computer every day, that's just a few seconds time you'll save with the SSD...
