Anyways, I'm considering buying a new gpu next month off ebay. Reasoning is that people who were miners up until the btc crash are now selling their cards. However, I'm not sure if I missed that window if it still hasn't happened yet. Has anyone bought computer parts from ebay before, and can give any advice or whatever? It doesn't seem to me like getting a used card is that big of a failure risk, as long as the original warranty is intact

bump because my dad just got his new gaming computer today and i feel like it's worth sharing.



it's absolutely massive and the packaging was just nuts. wooden crate holding a cardboard box holding a ton of heavy duty foam holding a felt case protector bag holding the computer.
they sent us a ton of other goodies too, like a custom razer taipan (which i have now claimed), a custom mousepad, t shirt, wristband, etc.

also the inside is full of customizable, color changing LED lights. you could actually have a rave with this thing cuz you can make it do strobe lights.

On one hand: That's pretty cool, that's origin's newest case as featured here
On the other: wtf your dad is an idiot for paying a premium for a giant case (that's made to be able to fit any size motherboard, aka gigantic) and then also the premium for building what looks like a single-gpu gaming rig without watercooling

he looked at building it himself, did the math on how much it would save him, and it only came up to like a $200 savings so he decided to save himself the trouble (he's built computers himself before) and go with the origin pc
also yeah it does actually have water cooling as well as a forgetload of openings to get a lot of airflow so i don't think cooling will be a problem.

but hey it's his money i guess, i had said that self building it would be better but he's a little kid inside and thought the LED's were cool.

unplug each one (excluding the heatsink) and see which one makes the noise
