I have this.

It's actually a really nice budget case. Great airflow.
Seems like a good case for my hopefully-soon-to-be-built workstation. :)

I'm digging it. Buttons are kinda eeehhh plastic-y and the eHDD bay at the top is flimsy, but overall I like the case. Pretty durable. My standards aren't very high for cases, though. I've only had cheap cases all my life.
Could use more dist filters. Only the front has filters.

'tis a pretty good case considering it cost $40
little small but good for me i guess

Dammit, all my IDE drives are dead and I really need one for an older computer which I wanted to use as a test machine...

Should I pass onto SATA drives? I'm still using IDE/SCSI drives. I used to have a SATA drive but, after a power surge, it died and never ran again.

Yeah, IDE drives are incredibly inferior to that of SATA, and you'll definitely feel the performance boost, trust me.

As for SCSI, well this standard is pretty much obsolete, since SATA is used for both servers and PC nowdays.

I'm trying to find some AM3 socket processors to upgrade my computer but not a lot of retailers have them. A motherboard upgrade is out of the question, atm, so I can't get a new motherboard+cpu combo with a more recent socket type.

I've really only found amazon to have them so if I have to I'll buy from amazon but I want to see if there's anywhere that offers the AMD Phenom II series processors I'd love to know.

I currently have an AMD Athlon II x4 635 so it should be obvious why I want to upgrade.

Power supply and such are all more recent, cpu's pretty much all I need upgraded right now to get out of the pitt I'm in, performance wise.

I set up a RAID 0 on my laptop. Same drive model except one is the 7200rpm version and the other is the 5400rpm version.
How are my speeds?

Idk, the software sucks. First time I ran it I got surprisingly low speeds for what my hard drive actually is. Then I ran it a second time and everything was up by a lot. My write speed I think should also be a bit higher than 74. I also think there might be a significant speed increase between Windows 7 and Windows 8.

How so? This drive spins at 7200RPM and has ~4MS of latency. What are the benefits of a SATA?

IDE has a bandwidth of 66mb/s. Plus any drive that uses IDE is going to be old and slow anyway.

:C
at least mine's decent for a laptop drive.
That 5400 is slowing me down, I know it. Plus the health of it isn't very good.
If I had two 7200 it'd be much faster.
