Nearly all of the keyboards at my school are mechanical and they are extremely annoying.

I think you're thinking of membrane keyboards, mechanical keyboards are pretty expensive.

$1000 is usually the best budget for a first computer build, most bang for your buck
Don't put together a build until you're 100% ready to pull the trigger on buying the parts
*whistles*

Looks like I am not going to get that computer anytime soon, but I'll be sure to start saving an amount around 1k.

HELLO
I need opinions, I'm thinking of getting a new graphics card (& possibly new CPU)

Current card: GTX 660TI KFA 3GB
Card I'm looking at: GTX 780, or the GTX 780TI.

I need to know if the 780 Ti is worth getting compared to the 780, Tokthree suggested that I buy a 780 instead and use the remaining money plus a bit of saving to buy a new CPU because he feels my current CPU might bottle-neck a 780 (Ti) and, overall, I'd get more out of a new GPU and CPU than just a stronger GPU

My current CPU is an Intel i5 2500, 3.3GHz

Thanks.

780 ti is overpriced. You're better off upgrading your cpu and going with a less expensive card like the 780 or even a used non-reference 290X, even though i don't think your current cpu will bottleneck either of them

This is exactally where everything in my old HP PC is. I checked myself.

I find it hard to believe that a school would fit it's facilities with the most expensive types of keyboards you can buy.

They are the old type of mechanical keyboards. For example:

Also, it is a science/technology college with a very large computer science department.

IBM model Ms were produced in the 80s.

Just to clarify, the keyboards at my school have Windows keys, that was just an example of the type of keyboard.

This is what I got for $568, the prices went down so theres room to mess with stuff.
The GPU price isn't listed so the current price at the bottom is wrong.
