storage on a tablet isnt an issue for me. ill be keeping most things on a stick or google drive.
media just streams

So yesterday I finally got my new computer fully assembled and set up, and hot damn it's good. Before the upgrade Carmageddon Reincarnation was unplayable on Bleak City, and if I chose any other car than the Eagle the game would run out of memory and I'd have to hit the reset switch. Now it runs the same map with whichever car I want at 20+ FPS, and all the other maps at way above 30 - not bad for a pre-alpha game and with the hardware running at stock clocks.
I'm also really thankful I went for an SSD instead of a traditional HDD. I've always regarded SSDs to be unneccessary luxuries, but after experiencing the speed for a day I can tell you that they are worth every penny. Windows boots to the desktop in less than 15 seconds, and the responsiveness is unreal.

Anyway, here are a few pictures; this is what I started with:

...and this is what I ended up with:

I like the case. I really hate all the annoying, flashy, lit-up cases

on an unrelated note, is buying a computer someone else built to sell on ebay a bad idea?

Just wondering, what case is that? Reminds me of an Antec 300 but there are a few features that look different (the front bezel specifically)

It's an NZXT Source 220, and yes, the looks are what first caught my eye. It only cost me around $50 which is a big plus, especially when you consider that it's decently put together and has good airflow.
Funny you mention the 300, because that's the case I had before. It's sturdy enough and possibly higher quality than the NZXT, but it has no cable management features what so ever (no, Antec, being able to stuff unused cables behind the 3.5" drive bays doesn't count as a feature) nor does it has a bottom-facing PSU intake. It's not a bad case per se, but it's outdated.

Guys, I need a budget build for $600 -$650-ish.

Basic requirements:

- Min. 8 GB RAM
- Min. 1 TB HDD
- Min. i5 processor
- Disk drive
- WiFi card
- Min. 2 GB GPU
- No monitor
- No OS (not that I'd expect you to include that)
- No Intel graphics

This computer will be used for some gaming (mostly Blockland, but being able to run shaders well wouldn't be too shabby), editing/rendering HD video, 3D modeling, animation, graphic design, music-making, etc. Keep in mind I know next to nothing about computers except for the little bits my brother has shared with me. If you have a build and it's a bit more than $650, that'd ok, my bro and I are bargain shoppers. ;)

I think you are asking too much of such a little budget.

Internet card? As in wifi or you want a dedicated ethernet card??
The latter is totally unnecessary.

I love that flooring. What material is that?

No? Not really. My brother and I already threw together a few mock builds that fit the criteria under $700, we just wanted to get the forum computer guys' opinion as well.

Yeah, oops, meant WiFi card.

Yo, computer geeks.

I would love if you could make me a build that can:
- Run CS:GO at 50+ FPS (Maxxed out)
- Run Warframe at 50+ FPS (Maxxed out)
- Run Starbound at 50+ FPS

It has to have:
- NZXT Source 210 (White) Case
- Wi-Fi Adapter if the motherboard doesn't include good on-board wifi capabilites
- 8GB RAM
- CD Drive
- Nvidia GPU

It does not have to include:
- Operating system
- Monitor
- Keyboard/Mouse

My budget is: $750

OH PARTS HAVE TO BE NEWEGG ONLY

I agree, my current case (Antec 900) is nice but there's almost nothing I can do with cables.

I think you are asking too much of such a little budget.
Don't think so. Without an OS and monitor it's pretty doable for that budget.

It has to have:
- Nvidia GPU
why?

OH PARTS HAVE TO BE NEWEGG ONLY
why?!
