Unless he wants to go for a degree in Computer Science
Computer Science isn't really going to prepare you for being a computer technician, its usually more programming focused. He's going to want to look for something in the Information Systems realm of majors.

is this a good build for games like Ark: Survival Evolved
would also be nice to run bl soft shaders :^)
even a GTX 980 isnt capable to run ark survival evolved at 1080p with a stable 30fps

I'm looking for an external drive that can burn to DVD-R, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ODDE7K4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER would this work? I'm a bit rusty on disks.

do you guys know if there's like a degree as a computer technician, or do you take stuff like comptai a+ certification?
Theyre a good way to get into the IT Field. Personally Im studying for most of their certifications, along with Cisco and CEH, and I have to say, they really help alot. Plus they are a good way to get started in an IT career, and are looked highly up technician employers

I've seen a YT video of the game running at 30-40 fps on ultra with a 970, so yeah, it should work fine. The only things I'd change is ditch the third-party cooler since the stock one is fine, get this power supply instead of the CX750 since it's higher-quality, has a longer warranty and is more efficient, and finally get this SSD for the OS + games, if you can afford it.

Yeah, I had to overclock my 970 to 1.6GHz and 60fps at 1080p. My room was hot af because it was just PUMPING heat. They've said themselves that the optimization is pretty bad right now but they'll be working on it.
I had the textures on high and everything on low so it wouldn't look like complete garbage.

Hey guys is 120c on the VRM1 a good thing to see? It was climbing faster than an inverted stock graph during Black Tuesday, so I exited out of FurMark. I think I found the source of my 5 month agony. I guess it's because I was ignorant of this temprature until I poked around GPU-Z during a Furmark test, lol. Starting RMA process now, hopefully XFX wont richard me out of $300 because it has been 5 months since I bought it.

Recently my computer got a random BSoD while I was abiut to post something on the forums. After the restart, I tried turning my computer back on, but it does nothing. I hear three beeps, fans are running, and nothing appears on the monitor. On occasion, it actually turns on but only works for at least 3 hours until it shuts down again and I can't turn it on. I haven't installed any new software/drivers recently.

I'm not much of a computer person. This is a custom build someone gave to me and it's been working for 3-4 months.

Do you still have the motherboard manual? There should be a table that tells you what the beepcode means.

My friend didnt give it to me, and I forgot what the moba model was. Does this mean I'm forgeted?

Download Speccy, run it and tell us what the motherboard is listed as

Open up your case and look for the model there, then search for the manual online.

Figured out the beepcode, and fixed it up. Apparently a memory slot clip was loose, and a RAM stick was loose as well.
