Well, I can't hook the fan up to any other spot nor do I think I can test it because I lack batteries. Right now I'm hoping that I was right and that the fan that was ordered will fix it

Try plugging the fan into a different fan header.

Yeah because a few seconds to verify if the fan is the problem is going to allow the CPU to get to boiling temperatures.

Any guide to doing this?

I was mostly thinking out loud and now that I think about it that probably wouldn't work unless it's only two pins. I'm not so sure about it but I think jumping the power and third pin of the fan header would report that the fan was spinning at an extremely high RPM and either fool the motherboard, or forget it up.

I have a cellphone but I don't know how I'd use that. I have a PC psu but why would I go through the trouble of unhooking it? everything else is wired.

my friend and I like to apply high currents to old circuit boards because they pop and explode and smoke. We had no bricky plug in thingies so we just tore up a power supply. It didn't do much with only 5 volts but it's worth noting!

android or burner? just take the batt out lol. you dont have to unhook it, just run the red and black from 4-pin to it.

That now I think of it I do have a USB that I could cut, issue is the fan hook ups are ridiculously small and I don't want to cut the fans wires just yet
Went ahead and did it anyway, forget me the fan runs. I'll still try replacing the fan since its already on its way and it could have been a connection inside not relaying back.

After further inspection of the motherboard (completely removed) I have found that it has sustained burn damage in a corner near the charging port. I suspect a storm caused it.
RIP motherboard. 2005-200?

I'm going to go ahead and fully repair it, the CPU isn't in a bad shape so I figure I can get it up and running.

Hey guys, my socket temp gets up to 74c and then crashes my computer with blackscreen and the fans/lights stay running, I have to hard reset it. With my side panel off, and a big box fan blowing right on the blackplate, temps stay at 65c. So what can I do to lower temps? Is it a case cooling issue? Is my CPU defective? Here is Hardware monitor and a picture of my silly setup. GPU disabled to make sure that's not what is crashing.

Used to call my Monolith, till I put it into a vintage 2006 PowerMac G5 case, now it is frankenmac.

So I redid the cable management of my media center.  I feel I could have done better in some parts, but I may come back to it another time.




Also, if a cable bothers you and won't stay put in a single location, duct tape it to something!  I also used a metric forgetton of zipties...

Should I have my friend get a R9 280, or are there other cards that are better for around that price? I know this sounds weird but don't say a 960, if you didn't read my story a few pages back, we had some problems and could never get a 960 to work with his motherboard (installing drivers would always make the desktop never boot up), so he's returning it and needs a different card.

For some odd reason, my Steelseries Sensei mouse keeps jumping around and eventually stops working in general. I've tried using different USB ports, but the only temporary fix is to pull it out and plug it back in. It works fine on other PCs, however.

What seems to be the problem here? I can't seem to fix it and it's really making me angry.
