you dont use it as an HDD
you use it as an SSD  :cookieMonster:
stufflord you stuffhead, why must you do this :c

I don't understand how one would use that as a HDD
It'd use it to run Windows and daily use programs off of, plus whatever game I'm currently playing to reduce load times. Its uses PCIe rather than SATA III, so dat 10Gb/s speed.

This also trips me out, can someone explain how this CPU works?
That's not a CPU, it says it right in the title, its a coprocessor. It probably works similarly to a GPU, but providing extra processing power for non-rendering needs.

It's a processor that can take some work off of the CPU. I doubt it actually appears as more cores but rather just uses drivers to direct operations to it rather than the CPU.

i guess that would be good for like rendering a video in the background without using up the main cpus power
extremely expensive though

i remember my pentium II was a cpu that fit into a card slot, instead of a socket

I mean how does the SSD install?

Oh, thanks for clearing that up.

Thanks for the article. I need to catch up a bit on the newer stuff

Yeah not a problem. Most fun part of this hobby, learning new stuff. :)

Opinions as a boot drive?
My uncle bought the 512 GB version for his new computer. I'll tell you how fast Windows boots off of it.

I'm actually thinking about getting that version. I'd boot and game mostly off of that, then I'd have overflow storage on my 256GB 840 EVO SSD, and then long term storage and backups on my 2TB HDD, which is loud as forget so I want to get off it soon.

I agree, it's always exciting

I'm installing a couple of programs and games for my girlfriend on a USB but the shortcuts to the programs don't work when I try them on a different computer. Is there a way to make shortcuts on a USB work?
and before you say "zomg piracy", it's free stuff, she doesn't have a computer of her own and her dad wont let her download anything.

I still need help

Anyone know of any fairly inexpensive desk VESA mounts that would allow me to place a monitor above two other monitors? I only have room for two monitors on my desk, and I want a third without drilling into the wall.

Should I buy 16gb or 32gbs of RAM?

32 wont be much help on gaming, unless you run 50 programs at once and run a game on top? Lol

Having more ram dosnt make things faster/better. But not having enough will gimp it all.
