So you'd much rather use near 5+ year old outdated sockets and mobos for amd rather than actually using the upgrade?

They're using a new socket for a reason my dude lol

i think he was just saying was that dealing with socket types gets cumbersome and it'd be pretty rad if there were a more ubiquitous standard so consumers didn't have to buy a new motherboard as often to upgrade their CPU. obvs there could be limitations that come with that sort of standard, which is probs why it hasn't happened, but from a consumer standpoint it's a reasonable complaint to have

Iirc they're moving to am4 to enable some modern hardware support because am3+ is very outdated. If anything it looks like am4 is gonna be the universal socket for another good while

ryzen 7 releases right on my birthday :)

Aaaaayyyy

Can't wait till ryzen tho, gonna be kickass

8 core 16 threads, 6 core 12 threads, 4 core 8 threads, all at 3ghz and much more, rgb stock cooler (iirc), ddr4 memory and modern improvements and etc, oh my

Iirc the lowest ryzen cpu u can get at launch is hyper threaded 4 core so that's damn good

No, im saying Intel and AMD should use a universal socket
And stick with that for 5 years instead of switching every year, right Intel?
Let me use a loving skylake with my LGA1150 mobo :<

Amd and intel using a universal socket would be stuff for their income

Yeah its not continent but blame the market
