Dialogs in Deus Ex always cut off before the person finishes speaking

So I bought the first Deus Ex since it was on sale for $2.50, and for most of the time when people speak, it always cuts them off. Eventually after playing for a while it kinda stops. This really bugs me since I have to then go to conversations and read the other half of what they said. Anyway of fixing this?
