Buckyballs are only banned in the US by the CPSA, and the company that makes them no longer has them in production. This does not affect other countries' online shopping sites like Amazon UK.

Any small toy with magnets in them is inevitably going to be banned. My favorite toy as a kid, Magnetics, was banned because some doucebag kid ate some and then died (his intestines were ripped apart). Big whoop, if you don't watch you kid and let him play with toys clearly marked as edible-death-risks, you should not be deemed a fit parent.
