The information isn't public just because you can find it. Posting something on facebook isn't the same as telling everyone you know something(metaphorically). Just because certain people have access to it doesn't mean it's meant for the entire world to see.

Wrong on all accounts.  One: Taking someones personal data isn't theft, but it is wrong.
Two: It is my data therefore it belongs to me. It is my intellectual property, and my extended identity.
Three: I've said a total of four(?) times now and you have yet to retain it. The data is not public just because you can find it.  It's not public because you can see it. It's not public because others can see it. It's public when it is shown with the intention of being shown to everyone. A conversation between two friends in the middle of a street is not public. How is this any different?

Quite frankly what you post to a certain online message board with a specific username (lets include Facebook data that non-friends can view in this category) be it personal information or your favorite bands is public. If you don't want it exposed use Facebook's privacy rules or don't post things publicly online if you don't want people to be able to freely discuss or share it. Who defines what is right and wrong when it comes to the sharing of data? You? Your god? I wholeheartedly believe that what I do is 100% alright.

And it isn't right by law of the land and common sense. Take this and apply it in a real world scenario and you have a damn good stalker case. Hell, you could even go gov't and watch whistle-blowers cry about privacy.
