Author Topic: Is there any 3D gamemaker?  (Read 2102 times)

You should just start by making add-ons, if you are interested in coding.

You shouldn't jump right into a game.
actually, the best way to start is by console programs just to get the hang of basics.

and then you get into libraries...

I disagree to both.

If you are interested in game development you start off in 2D using any development environment you are comfortable with, be it learning an industry standard language and building from there, or picking up a tool like GameMaker.

Making add-ons or wasting time with anything else won't help you in your quest to making a game at all.

Then you move to 3D.

Game development is far more about design and media creation when you consider the processes needed to build one. Programming is the backbone, but in many cases, is the last thing you have to deal with and usually the least appealing.

Is unity powerful? Can it handle good graphics or should I just use cryengine for that?

Well, time to reinstall Unity and try again...

I can create a HL2 mod with source sdk and change out all the models and stuff and it'll look nothing like HL2 except for the graphics and engine

to me it's like making a game, making the maps. and I didn't have to script much, I had to edit CFG files n stuff but that is easy

Is it possible to make 3D graphics in batch files?
is it possible to bake a chicken using nail clippers?

It can, But you wouldn't be able to make good graphics anyway.
