What is DUST 514?

One Universe // One War

DUST 514® brings intense infantry combat, large-scale warfare, and deep character advancement to a free-to-play massively multiplayer shooter, exclusively on the PlayStation 3

Wage war in the next generation of first-person shooters, where a single victory could prove the crushing blow to a galactic empire of thousands of EVE Online gamers.

Multiplayer First Person Shooter

Fight, dominate, and hone your skills as an elite mercenary with an unparalleled array of armor, weapons, and vehicles in massive online battles of up to 48 players. Customize every aspect of your gameplay, from your characters’ weapons, equipment, and skills to the vehicles they drive.

Play in the EVE Universe

Wage war in the notorious, persistent universe of EVE Online, where every battle and every action can affect the balance of power among thousands of players. Win battles, acquire territories, amass wealth, and build empires to establish yourself as a major influence in the ongoing conflicts of EVE Online.

Free To Play

Play completely for free, only on PlayStation®3 and the PlayStation®Network. Microtransactions can expand the experience but will not enable pay-to-win.

Corporations

Recruit friends and comrades-in-arms into your galactic corporation to win glory and territory across the stars. A corporation in DUST 514® is similar to a guild or clan in other online games. All players begin the closed beta in an NPC corporation, but can join or create a player organization thereafter.

Vehicles

Vehicles play a large role on the DUST 514® battlefield and are a significant threat to the opposition. The heavily armored units use long-range, heavy, concussive attacks while lighter units utilize their speed and flexibility. Aerial vehicles on the other hand are great for laying down fire from above; their vantage point over the battlefield also puts them in a good position to provide vital support functions for armored units. Each vehicle has its own set of unique bonuses or abilities allowing them to turn the tide in battle. Many of these abilities are of a supportive nature, allowing different types of vehicles to team up to create even more unique roles between classes.

Infantry Dropsuits

The mercenary soldiers of DUST 514® enter combat wearing dropsuits designed to protect them from both the elements and enemy fire. With a variety of specialized designs available, different dropsuits offer specific bonuses to speed, mobility, defense and configurability. Like starships and planetary vehicles, each dropsuit design come with a unique slot configuration and powergrid (PG) and CPU that permit a range of customizations. The number and type of slots determine the modules, weapons, and equipment that can be fitted

PS3 Players
None yet.

Credits go to CCP for making the website that I shamelessly copied off from.

it's amazingly dumb that they made it ps3 exclusive

once upon a time 2 years ago they offered the contract to Microsoft's Xbox 360 as well....and guess who decided to turn it down? I would have still owned my Xbox if they went with it. :/

it should be on pc is what i'm saying, i don't really mind it being on one console over another

seriously, i think this is the first shooter in literally ages that isn't on console and pc
what the hell kind of idea was that

The reason why it's not for PC is because it's already linked to EVE-Online which is already a PC game. CCP, the developers of both titles, wanted to start a new generation where Console and PC gamers could connect through one integrated system. One Universe, One war.

Give both consoles both games and only console-pc cross over play.

integrated =/= console exclusive
that post would have justified being on pc and console, not being on console

So the whole series should be spread out?
I've never played either games but I don't think it's a good idea to limit the games to
certain systems and use that as an excuse.

and what, you can't have more than 1 pc game? thats handicapped.
there's no reason why they shouldn't have had both pc and console

What ever happens in Dust affects everything in EVE. Winning 1 battle could win an entire war for EVE Online players, Besides, the game is mouse/keyboard compatible through ps3 that's why no one complains about it not being a PC game.

Registering. Didn't even have to read much or care for EVE, it looks pretty neat.

It's likely being used to study what kind of market they can reach with this kind of approach.

I understand the whole integrated system.
I don't mind myself, I just think the exclusive nature of the game's odd.
I think it could work on the PC as well.
