Author Topic: How To Install OptiFine to Tekkit Lite/Technic/FTB  (Read 14854 times)

I decided to put this up because the newest modpacks aren't really coming equipped with OptiFine, and for some users OptiFine is a must-have to play the game. This same process will work for most other mods for playing singleplayer, but remember,
Never install anything to the minecraft.jar itself!
TUTORIAL:
1:
Get the right version of OptiFine at optifine.net
For Technic/Tekkit Lite/Feed-the-beast Direwolf20 get the latest 1.4.6 version.
2:
Go to your launcher folder, (%AppData%\.techniclauncher or %AppData\ftblauncher)
and select the right modpack (Direwolf20, TekkitLite, TechnicSSP, etc.)
Next open the \bin folder and open modpack.jar.
Make sure to open modpack.jar, not minecraft.jar!
Next, simply drag the contents of OptiFine into the modpack folder.
Remember not to delete META-INF!

I think this would have been better in the minecraft topic, it'll get buried as it is.

I think there would be a greater chance of people seeing it if it were here and not hidden in the minecraft thread.

or just copy it into the topic as well, considering it gives people two opportunities to see it.

if you think it's offensive to cross post someone trying to help, you may want to reconsider.

i was going to ask if you were stupid, but then i saw who posted. what subpixel is doing is nice, yes, but i dont think this topic will actually stay afloat, which sort of defeats the purpose. He could contact dropshock and have him put it in the op, so it doesnt get buried.

i considered saying that, but so far as i know, drop basically only changes the title anymore. it's worth a try, though, since it's also applicable to vanilla minecraft, to an extent, just actually adding it to the minecraft.jar.

drop just improved the op of the minecraft topic, i could see him possibly adding in a small section dedicated to modding

I think this would be best in an actual minecraft forum and not the blockland forums. We don't need multiple topics about one game when there are plenty of other places to talk about them.

I'm sure there is some minecraft modding forum that people actually go to with questions like this.
